FA "RESPECT" Campaign - We have signed up to this national campaign. Coaches please collect your packs from Mark Stitson.

Level 2 Coaching - Three Meads FC coaches are currently undertaking the FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate. Andre, Alan & Sarah are completing the course with Surrey CFA and hope to finish early next year. This is a big undertaking for them as it requires 10 full days of training, with a further 16 hours of coaching.

Halsford Park School - All U8, U9 & U10 matches and training will take place at the School until further notice. Thanks to Steve Brain for arranging this.

Christmas Social - Friday 19th December 2008 @ EG Rugby Club 7:30pm to 00:45. Tickets available from Sue Stitson, Ange Tocher, Sharon Clarke, Karen Gadd or speak with your age group coach. Watch this space for more news.....

Storage Container - Shelving has been installed in the Blue Storage Container. Please keep tidy. Thanks to Duncan Tocher and Neil from ROTAN for putting them up.

2008 / 2009 SEASON

Training Sessions

U14 to U11 - Friday 5:30 - 18:30

U10 to U6 - Saturday (When no fixtures)

Training moves to the Hockey Club Friday 7th November (17:30 - 18:30) for 11-a-side; and for Mini-soccer provisionally on 6th December (09:00 - 10:00) This date is weather dependant.

Matches

All 11-a-side matches to be played at Imberhorne Recreation Ground (Sat & Sun).

All mini-soccer matches to be played at Halsford Park School on Saturday mornings.

The big blue storage container at the Rugby Club has been fitted out with shelves (Thanks to Duncan Tocher and Neil from ROTAN). Every age group has be assigned one key. Please store all goals, flags, line markers etc. inside, and keep tidy!

RECENT EVENTS

End of Season Presentations & BBQ 2008 - Sunday 6th July at EG Rugby Club.

This years event was held at the Rugby Club. The evening began with a BBQ, with the main presentations at 6pm.

EG Meads Football Festival 2008

East Grinstead Meads FC held its inaugural Football Festival last season (2008) at Sackville School. Despite the poor weather on the day, all 30 local teams played out a sporting contest in unseasonable conditions. With the U7 & U9 age groups competing in the morning all teams had at least 6 games. The U 7s was a “friendly” event with no losers and all players receiving a medal. In the U9s event all teams played in a semi & Final with Lingfield taking top honours and two of the four finals going to penalties. In the afternoon it was the turn of the U8 & U10 age groups, everyone playing 7 games. Again, the younger U8s was a “friendly” event. Top honours in the U10s going to Lingfield (again) and Broad Oak.

Teams competing came from EG Meads, EG Town, EG Athletic, Crawley Down, Lingfield, Langton Green, Broad Oak Forest Row & Ashurst Wood. Players and supporters were kept going with copious quantities of Hot Dogs, Burgers, Tea, Coffee and Home Made Cakes and from the feedback received, everyone enjoyed the day and looked forward to making this an annual event. EG Meads FC would like to thank John Burke and his staff at Sackville School for providing the excellent facilities at short notice.

Club Photo 2008

More than 110 players and coaches came along to a Club Photo Session at The Meads School on 22nd March. The photo will update the web site and hopfully get into the local papers.

Christmas Party 2007

A great night enjoyed by over 100 parents. Dancing till the small hours. Over £250 was raised for club funds.

Thanks to Sue, Angie, Sharon & Karen for organising the event. Same time next year?

Volunteers

The Club is looking for volunteers to help run the ever increasing workload associated with our expanding club. If anyone is interested in any way please see any of the Age Group Coaches or contact Steve Phillips (01342 300866), for more information about what is involved.

Last season we recieved a grant from the Football Foundation & from Barclays. All teams received new balls & training bibs. We also replaced 2 mini soccer goals.
