PLEASE ENSURE YOU WEAR YOUR RAIN JACKETS TO BOTH TRAINING & MATCHES MATCH REPORT v Ridgewaye AC (09/11/2008) What a difference a week makes. This was the display I knew you could give, confident, challenging for every ball and playing as a team. If only we had more luck up front. The game started on a surprisingly dry pitch, at a frantic pace and within 5 minutes the score was 1-1, the Meads goal scorer was Elliot Musk from close range. Both teams played good football, battling for every ball. With the wind blowing down the pitch Ridgewaye edged the first half although the 3-1 score at half time did flatter them. EG Meads swapped the formation and with the speed of Wagg & Musk up front the Meads were on top from the re-start. Wagg pulled one back, Ridgewaye then scored on the break only for Musk to reply to bring it back to a single goal difference. If EG Meads had more luck and the opponents goalkeeper had not had the game of the season Meads would have scored 3 or 4 more goals. Meads pushed forward right to the end and Ridgewaye scored on a breakaway in the last couple of minutes. This game was physical but played in a fantastic spirit by both teams. Before the game all participants gathered around the centre circle for two minutes silence and contemplation to commemorate Remembrance Sunday. EG Meads “Man of the Match” was Mikey Gower for a captain's performance and leading by example. The Team Captain for this season is Mikey Gower, Vice-Captain is Dominic Martin. Well done boys, you were chosen for you dedication and effort you put in both during training & at matches. Please remember, if any parent knows they will not be going to an away game please do NOT wait until Sunday morning to ask for a lift! You cannot expect other parents to take responsibility for your child without prior arrangement. In future ask first!! It is not fair on the other parents.
