Training this Saturday (04/02/12) is cancelled due to frozen pitches

OBJECTIVES FOR THIS SEASON AND BEYOND

My objective for the season is a simple one. FUN FUN FUN.

My goal is for every child to have the maximum enjoyment possible through various drills and games and if I get it right I might just sneak in enough technical content that they will be learning without even knowing it.

As we move forward through the seasons, my longer term goals are for the children to become the best football players they are capable of becoming in a no pressure environment with maximum encouragement.

I am an advocate of letting the kids develop in these early years, without pigeon holing or pressuring them into particular playing positions. Each child will experience the same amount of football and will play in every position in order to develop the skills needed and indeed an understanding of the complexities of each role on the field of play. Only when the children move on from mini soccer to a competitive 11 a side environment will they take up regular positions and by the end of this particular phase of their development it should be far clearer as to which particular area of the field their technical and physical attributes are suited.
