2011/12 Season

Training

TRAINING SAT 11TH FEB WILL BE AT JUBILEE COMMUNITY CENTRE IN CHARLWOODS ROAD FROM 9 TIL 10.30. TRAINERS - NO BOOTS. PLEASE BE THERE READY FOR A PROMPT START

Each week, please advise Shaun if you know your son will not be coming along. This will help us plan the session.

Format

Upon arrival we will get a quick match going. This will not last long - latecomers will be disappointed so please arrive as promptly as possible. The coaches will normally be there from 08.45 setting up.

We will then have some training games before finishing off another match - subject to weather and behaviour during the session!

Red Cone Zone

At training there is a red cone area for the boys to put their drinks, jackets, etc.

Matches

We are again in the Crowborough League and have the following fixtures scheduled:-

28/1/12 - Rotherfield(Away).
25/2/12 - Langton Green (Home).
3/3/12 - Crowborough / Jarvis Brook (Away).
24/3/12 - Ringmer Rovers(Home).
14/4/12 - Uckfield (Away).
21/4/12 - Crowborough League Jamboree (Away - Tonbridge).
12/5/12 - Uckfield / Forest Row(Home).
19/5/12 - EG Meads FC Tournament (Imberhorne School).

Home matches will usually kick off at 10.45 at Blackwell School.

Your help is appreciated at each home match setting up and taking down goals, respect barriers, etc.

Our approach

Mini-soccer is intended as an introduction to football and is not all about the end result.

2011/12 Season Objectives

1. To have fun and enjoy playing football.: Learning to play in a sporting manner.; Developing confidence in their ability in training and matches, allowing learning from mistakes.; More emphasis on what has been done well, than on what needs to improve.; To continue to develop technical skills.
2. To introduce basic systems of play in match situations.: Set plays (kick-off, free kicks, goal kicks & throw ins).; Attacking as a team.; Defending as a team.; Communication.
3. To continue to promote teamwork / team spirit.

Coach Development

The coaches will be attending the following FA courses during the season:

Tactics/strategies and systems of play.
Shooting and Finishing.
